Yes. The VPD chart, diary, feeding charts, calculators, plant doctor, templates and basic automation are free forever, with no ads. Pro lifts the limits of 1 grow, 1 tent, 3 devices and 1 rule, and adds tools like the PPFD meter, the desktop Hub, analytics and exports.

No. Open the app and start. You only sign in to a manufacturer's service — for example Mars Hydro or AC Infinity — if you want to control devices that can only be reached through it.

Both apps share the same core. The Android app needs Android 7.0 or newer, the iPhone app iOS 16 or newer. On Android, automation keeps running in the background every 15 minutes; on iPhone it runs while the app is open, so for round-the-clock control use an old Android phone or the desktop Hub as the hub.

Yes — everything except cloud-connected devices. Tuya devices on your local network and Bluetooth sensors don't need the internet. Mars Hydro, AC Infinity and other cloud-only devices do, because the manufacturer's server is the only way to reach them.

Yes. The VPD chart, diary, feeding plans, calculators and plant doctor need no hardware at all. In Settings you can also load demo data — sample grows, sensor history and rules — to see everything in action, and clear it again with one tap.

English, Czech, German, Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Thai and Hebrew. The app starts in your phone's language and you can switch any time in Settings.

VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) measures the drying power of the air around your plants. It's calculated from temperature and humidity. Optimal VPD ensures your plants transpire at the right rate, leading to better nutrient uptake and growth. GrowVPD Pro shows you the ideal VPD zone for each growth stage.

Tested on real hardware: Tuya / Smart Life plugs and air conditioners over the local network, Tuya Zigbee gateways with their sensors, Mars Hydro light controllers and iTime timers, and Bluetooth thermo-hygrometers. AC Infinity, Spider Farmer, Vivosun, Bluelab and SANlight are implemented and being verified with owners. Ask on Discord about your model.

You create rules such as “if VPD rises above 1.5 kPa, switch on the humidifier”, or let Full Auto Mode set up a tent for its growth stage. Devices switch with hysteresis, minimum on/off times and run-time limits so equipment doesn't flap on and off, and a rule pauses safely when its sensor stops reporting. Free includes 1 rule; Pro is unlimited.

Two ways. Sign in with your Smart Life account (experimental, EU and US regions) to import your devices for control on your local network, or connect your own free Tuya developer project for cloud access in any region — the app walks you through it. Devices on your Wi-Fi are then controlled locally whenever possible.

Sign in with your Mars Hydro account and your devices appear. New ones can be added over Bluetooth: the app finds the controller, connects it to your Wi-Fi and registers it to your account, like the manufacturer's own app does. Mars Hydro allows one signed-in phone per account, so signing in on a second phone signs the first one out.

Yes. The app reads common Bluetooth thermo-hygrometers — for example Xiaomi with ATC firmware, Govee, SwitchBot, Inkbird, ThermoPro and Ruuvi — and shows them live on the VPD chart. The free version includes 1 Bluetooth sensor; Pro removes the limit.

It runs quietly on your computer, keeps your grow in sync while your phone is away and gives you a full dashboard in the browser: charts, diary, automation, devices and a photo editor. It's included with Pro for Windows, macOS and Linux — you'll find your personal download link in the app.

Any time, in the subscriptions section of Google Play or the App Store. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. The lifetime licence is a one-off purchase with nothing to cancel.

Open the Pro screen in the app and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same Google or Apple account you bought with. Purchases are handled by the store, so there's no separate login. A Google Play purchase doesn't carry over to an iPhone, or the other way round.

Your data lives on your devices and can be exported at any time, and the installed app keeps working without our servers — only the optional online services we run, like the sync relay, would stop.

On your device — there is no account. A few optional features send data off the phone: sync (end-to-end encrypted, so our relay can't read it), cloud monitoring with alerts, and anonymous crash reports, which you can switch off in Settings. The privacy policy lists exactly what goes where.

Pro includes Backup & Restore in Settings, which saves everything including photos, plus exports to PDF, JSON and CSV. If you pair a second phone or the desktop Hub, your diary is also kept in sync on that device.

PIN and fingerprint or face lock are free. With Pro you can also hide photos from your phone's gallery, turn on stealth mode (nothing revealing in notifications or the app switcher) and, on Android, switch to a neutral app icon.

Yes, in Settings. Crash reports are anonymous — no personal data, photos or sensor readings — and only help us fix bugs faster.

Everything on your phone disappears when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. For data from optional online features, write to us and we'll delete it within 30 days — the data deletion page explains the details.
